In what feels like a previous life I was a musician, factotum and some kind of writer. I’d like to add unsung superhero, but that’s not entirely the truth.

For a while I disappeared into the great ugly splodge of the modern world, having got lost around the Deadend Street that’s just off the High Street in every town. I eventually figured that retracing your steps and starting out on the route you always should have taken is not such a bad idea.

I stopped putting my foot in it for the hell of it.

I formally studied literature.

Here I am with a first; no better off financially, but richer for the journey.

I hope you get something from these scribblings.

‘If you ask me what I came into this life to do, I will tell you: I came to live out loud.’ Emile Zola.
